Terminator Salvation Concept Art Is Salivating

When I first got the news over a year ago that a new terminator was about to go underway I was more excited then humanly possible, then I found out who was directing it Mc G, my first reaction was what is a Mc G?  Then after a bit of research I was reduced to a skeptical mess, even when Christian bale was announced as John Connor.  When the teaser trailer was released a few months ago I was underwhelmed and worried about the future of one of my favorite film series and after the disappointment of the uneven and contradictory Sarah Connor chronicles t.v. show I was sure that this fourth installment would be the nail in the coffin.

And then everything changed

About a month or two ago the trailer of the year was released if you haven’t seen it yet stop everything in your life and go to this link right now

Now that you have changed your pants after no doubt losing control of all bodily functions we can continue. So after this trailer the gnarliest moving poster was released, Further adding to my ridiculous excitement, Mc G has really impressed me with the visual style and tone and I just hope that the film can deliver. The Mad Max visuals and story seem like the natural progression and after talking to some people who DON’T like Terminator 2 (I didn’t think these people even existed) but there biggest qualms were that they wanted to see this world and felt like the sequel should have been, well exactly what this trailer is. As far as I’m concerned May 22nd cannot come soon enough and any news I get on Terminator Salvation will take priority and I will try and post it as soon as I can. So here it is, the good people over at Total Film have found over 20 cool pieces of concept art

Some great stuff including pictures of fallen skyscrapers, desolate cities, a shot of a huge giant terminator and what look like critter type infiltrators. There are some haunting shots of assembly lines and those awesome bikes from the trailers, anyway check it out.

Also Michael Bay recently criticized the giant robot in the trailer as copying Transformers, some have already said this is because Michael Bay invented the concept of giant robots. Well I’m actually looking forward to Transformers 2 but if Bay wants to take jabs at this movie he can go and screw himself with a decepticon.  Also this week the big news was that Danny Elfman will score the film, sources say that Elfman was asked to try and create new sounds and scores, well as long as he uses Brad Fiedels’ famous theme tune theres no problem.
