Van Damme shocked a lot of people last year playing himself as a washed up star dealing with tragic events that mirrored his real life all whilst being tangled up in a robbery. ‘JCVD’ showcased Jean Cluade’s hidden talents and have helped him to begin to create a nice career for himself as an independent star. For his next project Van Damme is writing, directing, producing and staring in ‘Eagle’s Path,’

"Van Damme plays “Frenchy”, an emotionally lost Ex-GI turned taxi driver somewhere in South-East Asia where he crosses paths with “Sofia”, played by Spanish actress (Claudia Bassols), a woman whose mysterious life mesmerizes him drawing him into a world where he must protect her from an unhealthy relationship with high class and vicious business owner “Soli”, (Adam Karst), and maybe even herself. With the help of his Best friend, “Bobby Jackson” (Josef Cannon) the alcoholic, paraplegic former Military specialist, They set out on a path together, “THE EAGLE PATH” that could free them all from the self imposed prison they each find themselves in."
Sounds like some pretty heavy stuff, I just hope Van Damme can maintain the quality performance he did in JCVD, having said that it looks like he’s going to be in ‘Universal Soldier 3’ (D’oh.) I’m still quite surprised that hes not featuring in Stallone’s ‘Expendables’ which features almost every single big 80’s action star. Unfortunately JCVD seems to have left cinemas and a dvd release has not yet been announced but when it does come out make sure you hunt it down.
