Kevin Smith Gets His Way with A Couple Of Dicks

I’am a huge Kevin Smith fan, he is one of my favorite filmmakers and I just couldn’t resist the chance to write that title.

So I was unable to write a quick piece this week about the news that Kevin Smith is to direct A Couple Of Dicks for Warner Bros.’ The Script written by Rob and Marc Cullen will star Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as two veteran L.A.P.D veterans who attempt to track down a 1952 mint condition stolen baseball card. This marks the first film that Kevin Smith will direct having not written the screenplay, for any one lucky enough to watch Sold Out: A Threevening With Kevin Smith, you’ll remember that Bruce Willis asked Smith if he would like to do a project with him, which Smith said he would love to do but just didn’t have an idea. Writers the Cullen brothers also made the pilot episode for a show called Man-Child (a proposed and failed version of the popular British series) which also starred Smith and whilst the pilot was very formulaic the dialogue was decent and up to Smith’s standard, plus after some of the stories in the Threevening about Smith rewriting scenes on Die Hard 4 I’m sure he will tinker the script in some way.

The News this week was that the name would be changed to A Couple of Cops which sounded about as appealing as Zack and Miri Make a Movie (the title that was proposed instead of Make a Porno) but luckily they have seen sense and kept the original title.

Plus i don't know if many people remember but Smith and Tracy Morgan have worked together before, Morgan had a small brilliant cameo in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back where he plays a Drug dealer discussing the buisness, a great scene that you can watch below.
