This week I finally got around to seeing Gran Torino, before the film I had to sit through the same dribble of trailers that are popular at the moment and ones that make me die a little inside every time I see them (Last Chance Harvey) well in the middle of the rusty trailer reel I got to see a teaser for a film that I had never heard of and now cant wait to see, check it out below:
The film looks like a great deal of fun coming out on april 3rd after all the award nonsense is over when we can stop taking films quite so seriously and have a bit of fun with them. I have not heard a word about it on any of the other big sites and with the release date a few months away here's a bit of information. The synopsis from the
official website:
"Set in 1957, Alien Trespass chronicles a fiery object from outer space that crashes into a mountaintop in the California desert, bringing the threat of disaster to Earth. Out of the flying saucer escapes a murderous creature – the Ghota, which is bent on destroying all life forms on the planet. A benevolent alien from the spaceship, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) – a local astronomer – and with the help of Tammy (Jenni Baird), a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind."
The film is directed by R.W. Gordon who directed and wrote a lot of X-Files episodes and produced lots of T.V. the film also stars Robert "T-1000" Patrick which is just awesome thats all i can really say about that. Those who were lucky enough to catch the limited release of My Name Is Bruce last year will see some similarities in the tone of independent B-movie comedy, horror, sci-fi and the film looks like a great send up of that pulp sci-fi film era in the same way that Joe Dante's Matinee did. Plus what an awesome One Sheet.
