Jackie Chan as Mr Miyagi WHAAAT!
That’s right the already ridiculous notion of a Karate Kid remake a mere fifteen years after Hillary Swank took over the role from Ralph Macchio keeps sounding even more doomed. Now Jackie Chan is being tipped for everyone’s favorite mentor made famous by the late Pat Morita. Chan probably the world’s most beloved martial arts star proved with this year’s ’Forbidden Kingdom’ that at the age of 54 he can still f&$k s*^t up! I think Chan still has too many good movies in him to play a wise old mentor type like Miyagi and I just cry when I think of Hannah Montana or some equally abysmal early teen trash musical act covering Joe Esposito’s “You’re The Best.”
Anyway let’s hope this project gets “Waxed Off” the face of the earth because remakes are making their way into 80’s territory with ‘They Live” “Friday The 13TH” “Escape From New York” eventually someone will attempt to redo “Back to the Future” and that will be the day that reality falls apart and the apocalypse begins.
