Thats the new official poster for 'Franklyn' the sci-fi fantasy set in a future London dystopia starring Ryan Phillipe, Eva Green and is also the directorial debut of Gerald Mcmorrow. The film is split between two different worlds with four characters lives and fate crossing paths to a collision of both worlds. I have been interested in Franklyn ever since I saw this iconic image of Ryan Philippe's masked vigilante.
The film was originally meant to star Ewan Mcgregor but he broke his leg before filming and Ryan Phillippe took the role. The film was made for only £6 million and as of now has no U.S. theatrical release date but if you're in the U.K. you can check it out on February 20th. There hasn't really been much advertisement for the film until today, the only other thing we had to go on was this dodgy rushed trailer which surfaced up a few months ago that showcases some amazing visuals but then looses a lot of credibility by robbing Clint Mansel's Requiem score at the end (which takes the robbing count up to 12)Aside from the lazy use of trailer music the film has some interesting visuals and a crazy premise reminding me a bit of Alex Proyas' 'Dark City.'
